Agree CAP, la scritta sopra a due mani che si stringono

Agree CAP

Agree CAP – For a zero-emission future of rural areas is an annual project (1st of August 2024 – 31st of July 2025) promoted by Kyoto Club, co-financed by the Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development.

Objectives

The aim of the project is to inform about the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and its key concepts: on the climate emergency; on the contribution of the agricultural sector to the CO2 equivalent emissions and their impact on agriculture, and on what farmers will be able to do about thanks to the CAP; on the implementation of the Italian National Strategic Plan.

Agree CAP offers an in-depth look at supporting climate change mitigation and adaptation, highlighting national good practices, including the sustainable management of natural resources, towards climate neutrality.

The project, in fact, will enhance the contribution of the CAP to the support of the rural economy, thanks to a focus on new skills and technologies (agriculture 4.0), increasingly smart and sustainable, which allow employment development, with the involvement of women in agriculture, together with new business opportunities at the local level.

Themes

  • Adaptation to climate change
  • Renewable energy sources in agriculture
  • Socio-economic revitalisation of rural areas
  • Organic farming and agriculture 4.0 for climate change adaptation and sustainability.

Actions

The actions envisaged by Agree CAP are:

  • Kick-off meeting: project launch conference, which will take place in Rome.
  • 20 thematic webinars: to raise public awareness on the contribution of the CAP to environmental sustainability, adaptation and climate resilience and on the potential of rural areas with a view to their socio-economic development.
  • 10 study visits for schools: tours of meetings and face-to-face seminars throughout the Italian peninsula that will allow participating schools to get to know local good practices up close.
  • Contest: during the seminars am Award will be launched that will be linked to the study visits, reserved for schools. The best communication material produced by the schools while taking part in the study visits will be selected.
  • Study visit and award ceremony: The one-day study visit will allow students to have a close look to an innovative approach in the field. During the study visit, the Agree CAP award ceremony will be organized.
  • Final event: final conference in Rome, where the results and proposals of the project will be presented.
