The European Commission has launched two public consultations to define the EU climate policy architecture after 2030, supporting the path toward a legally binding 90% emissions reduction by 2040. The initiative seeks input from citizens and stakeholders on how future rules can remain fair, cost-effective, and adaptable to national circumstances.
Feedback will contribute to legislative proposals expected in late 2026. The consultations are open until 4 May 2026.
