Climate clock, in NY City the clock that counts down to climate catastrophe
In New York City's Union Square, a digital clock has been reprogrammed to count down the amount of time left to take action to prevent the worst effects of global warming from becoming irreversible.
Climate clock is a clock that counts down, placed on one of the skyscrapers in New York. A real countodown placed where no one can ignore it. It marks the time that humanity is missing before entering an irreversible climate emergency.
The clock was inaugurated last saturday in Union Square, Manhattan, as part of Climate Week. Conceived by artists Gan Golan and Andrew Boyd, the Climate Clock will be visible until 27 September and is based on the most recent studies conducted by the UN on climate change.
