{"id":6728,"date":"2020-09-22T10:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-09-22T10:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kyotoclub.org\/?p=6728"},"modified":"2020-09-22T10:00:00","modified_gmt":"2020-09-22T10:00:00","slug":"koronivia-joint-work-on-agriculture-views-from-parties-and-observers-on-topics-2e-and-2f","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kyotoclub.org\/en\/news-en\/news-from-the-world\/2020\/09\/22\/koronivia-joint-work-on-agriculture-views-from-parties-and-observers-on-topics-2e-and-2f\/","title":{"rendered":"Koronivia Joint Work on Agriculture: views from Parties and observers on topics 2(e) and 2(f)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The KJWA calls for joint work between the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SABSTA) and the Subsidiary Body of Implementation (SBI) with the aim to take into consideration the vulnerabilities of agriculture to climate change and approaches to address food security.<\/p>\n<p>Paragraph 2 of the KJWA decision provides a list of initial elements on which Parties and observers to the UNFCCC were invited to submit their views:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Modalities for implementation of the outcomes of the five in-session workshops on issues related to agriculture and other future topics that may arise from this work;<\/li>\n<li>Methods and approaches for assessing adaptation, adaptation co-benefits and resilience;<\/li>\n<li>Improved soil carbon, soil health and soil fertility under grassland and cropland as well as integrated systems, including water management;<\/li>\n<li>Improved nutrient use and manure management towards sustainable and resilient agricultural systems;<\/li>\n<li>Improved livestock management systems;<\/li>\n<li>Socioeconomic and food security dimensions of climate change in the agricultural sector.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>FAO<\/strong> in collaboration with <strong>CMCC<\/strong> supported by the German Federal Ministry for Food and Agriculture (BMEL) is producing a factual summary of the submissions provided by Parties and observers to the UNFCCC on the topic 2(e) &ndash;&nbsp;<i>Improved nutrient use and manure management towards sustainable and resilient agricultural systems and others<\/i>; and topic 2(f) &ndash;&nbsp;<i>Socioeconomic and food security dimensions of climate change in the agricultural sector<\/i>.
