They include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The Fit for 55 package must enable the EU to achieve at least &#8211; and possibly go beyond &#8211; a 55% net GHG emission reduction by 2030 (compared to 1990s levels) to fulfil Europe\u2019s commitments under the European Climate Law and the Paris Agreement.<\/li><li>Every &nbsp;support should be provided to <strong>increase ambition and implementation of energy files<\/strong>, particularly in relation to the Energy Efficiency, Renewable Energy and Energy Performance of Building Directives.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Ambitious European climate and energy targets and <strong>clear communication on mature renewable and energy efficient technologies <\/strong>will constitute important signals to investors, allowing them to support the transition.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Repower EU should prioritise phasing out dependence on fossil fuels in general and not only from Russia. <\/strong>It is necessary to have an energy diversification away from fossil fuels.<\/li><li>A <strong>flexible, renewable-based, and smart system integration of all end-use sectors <\/strong>(transport, buildings, industry and heating &amp; cooling) must be further promoted by relying on the active contribution of consumers.<\/li><li>We should<strong> transform our energy system, <\/strong>people should be able to participate by becoming prosumers and by activating their potential for demand reduction through behavioural changes and efficiency, as well as demand-side flexibility.<br><br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eceee.org\/all-news\/news\/news-2022\/businesses-authorities-and-civil-society-calls-for-ambitious-fit-for-55-package\/\">More&#8230;<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In a statement and joint letter to European leaders the Coalition for Higher Ambition, where eceee is member, calls to step up climate ambition by tackling energy security, energy poverty and climate crisis at the same time.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":33,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"kc_post_selected_socio_id":0,"footnotes":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":false,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","default_image_id":0,"font":"","enabled":false},"version":2}},"categories":[26],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-42075","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-news-from-the-world"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.7 -
