The EEA assessment \u2018Decarbonising road transport \u2014 the role of vehicles, fuels and transport demand<\/a>\u2019 analyses the driving factors for greenhouse gas emissions from passenger cars and heavy goods vehicles<\/strong> in the European Union (EU). The new report is part of the \u2018Transport and environment reporting mechanism\u2019 (TERM) series of annual assessments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to EEA data, CO2<\/sub> emissions from passenger cars<\/strong> in the 27 EU Member States increased by 5.8\u00a0%, and emissions from heavy goods vehicles<\/strong> increased by 5.5\u00a0%, from 2000 to 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
