{"id":33088,"date":"2021-03-18T08:48:00","date_gmt":"2021-03-18T07:48:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kyotoclub.org\/?p=33088"},"modified":"2021-03-19T08:52:22","modified_gmt":"2021-03-19T07:52:22","slug":"the-european-environmental-bureau-eeb-and-the-coolproducts-campaign-just-launched-a-report-that-looks-at-the-climate-compatibility-of-the-portfolios-of-manufacturers-of-domestic-heating-systems","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kyotoclub.org\/en\/news-en\/news-from-the-world\/2021\/03\/18\/the-european-environmental-bureau-eeb-and-the-coolproducts-campaign-just-launched-a-report-that-looks-at-the-climate-compatibility-of-the-portfolios-of-manufacturers-of-domestic-heating-systems\/","title":{"rendered":"The European Environmental Bureau (EEB) and the Coolproducts Campaign just launched a report that looks at the climate-compatibility of the portfolios of manufacturers of domestic heating systems."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The heating and cooling sector is responsible for half of the EU\u2019s annual energy consumption and a third of its CO2 emissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yet, despite efforts to portray themselves as sustainable, most of Europe\u2019s leading manufacturers of heating systems haven\u2019t yet disclosed plans to switch production from fossil-fuel boilers to solar thermal systems and heat pumps, according to a brand audit and questionnaire evaluating the climate-compatibility of their portfolios.<br><br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.coolproducts.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/EEB-Brand-Audit-Report_v4.0.pdf\"><strong>Brand Audit: leaders &amp; laggards of the European heating sector<\/strong> Download<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The report was commissioned by the European Environmental Bureau (EEB) \u2013 Europe\u2019s largest network of green groups \u2013 on behalf of the&nbsp;Coolproducts campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The audit reveals that 42 out of 53 companies interviewed either refused to disclose information about their climate plans or admitted having no such plans.
