{"id":42579,"date":"2022-07-29T16:50:59","date_gmt":"2022-07-29T14:50:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kyotoclub.org\/?page_id=42579"},"modified":"2023-07-24T18:05:53","modified_gmt":"2023-07-24T16:05:53","slug":"ffaircap","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.kyotoclub.org\/en\/projects-and-initiatives\/ffaircap\/","title":{"rendered":"F-FAIRCAP"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Project<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With the support of the <strong>European Commission\u2019s Directorate General for Agriculture<\/strong> <strong>and Rural Development<\/strong> (<em>DG AGRI<\/em>), the <em>F-FAIRCAP, Future Farmers Awareness-raising and Information for a Resilient Common Agricultural Policy <\/em>&nbsp;project, lasting from 01 August 2022 until 31 July 2023 and being implemented all over Italy, is promoted by <em><strong>Kyoto Club<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project offers an in-depth analysis into the EU <em>CAP, Common Agricultural Policy<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">F-FAIRCAP is sponsored by the<strong> Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security<\/strong> (formerly the Ministry of Ecological Transition), by the <strong>Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry<\/strong> and by the <strong>National College of Agricultural Experts and Graduated Agricultural Experts<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Goals and themes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The aim of the project is to inform about the <em>CAP <\/em>and its support tools, raising awareness on the key topics relevant to the <em>CAP<\/em>, with particular attention to the new 2023-2027 programming period for a transition toward a zero-emission agri-food sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>F-FAIRCAP<\/em> offers citizens, students, and farmers an in-depth look into the contribution of the <em>CAP<\/em> in supporting mitigation and adaptation to climate change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thanks to the involvement of young farmers and in order to initiate a dialogue on the critical aspects of the economic integration of rural areas, as well as to collect bottom-up proposals to be shared with the relevant Regional Governments, <em>F-FAIRCAP<\/em> may be replicated in other regions of the European Union to promote the <em>CAP <\/em>guidelines and objectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Specific goals<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To increase the number of Italian citizens aware of the expected contributions from the agri-food sector in order to oppose climate change and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To inform and raise awareness on the measures envisaged in the 2023-2027 <em>CAP<\/em>, and in the <em>National Strategic Plan<\/em>, with a focus on climate change and environmental protection.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To increase the number of citizens \u2013 especially young people \u2013 aware of the <em>CAP<\/em> support for small \/ medium-sized entrepreneurs and about the fact that environmental sustainability is the most competitive way of diversifying income.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Themes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Circular economy in the agri-food sector.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Renewable energy sources and agriculture.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Soil protection and biodiversity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support for rural areas and communities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Actions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Kick-off meeting:<\/strong>&nbsp;opening conference at the European Commission Representation in Rome.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>20 thematic online webinars<\/strong>: to raise public awareness on the contribution of the <em>CAP<\/em> to environmental sustainability and climate resilience and on the potentials of organic farming.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>20 seminars in agricultural high schools and universities<\/strong>: frontal seminars in 20 educational institutions to discuss the opportunities offered by the new 2023-2027 <em>CAP<\/em> and collect the students\u2019 proposals about the local <em>CAP<\/em> implementation priorities to be shared with the relevant Regional Governments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Competition and Prize<\/strong>: the prize is dedicated to 30 schools all over Italy and is open to circular economy initiatives linked to the agri-food sector.
